NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Two Tulane students were robbed early Wednesday morning when four men kicked in their door two blocks from campus in the Carrollton/University neighborhood.

The robbery occurred around 2:45 a.m., in the 1200 block of Lowerline Street.

Two students told Tulane University police that three, possibly four suspects, described as black males, one armed with a black colored handgun, kicked in their door of their house.

The suspects then stole a laptop, two cellphones, and an Xbox console.

The suspects then fled in a dark blue or black Nissan Altima with temporary tags.

The suspects fled towards St. Charles Avenue, and then in an unknown direction.

The robbery has residents in the area worried and fearful for their safety.

"We live in the neighborhood. We have kids, there are a lot of people who have kids so that would make me particularly concerned if it's happening a lot and just be a little more cautious, make sure we lock the doors at night," said Erica Zucker.

No one was injured during the incident.
