MANDEVILLE, LA (WVUE) - Mandeville Police are investigating a complaint by a 98-year-old nursing home resident that she was inappropriately touched.
On Wednesday, police responded to the Beau Provence Memory Care Facility on Beau West Drive after the patient reported to her caregiver that she had been touched in a sexual manner. The facility management then notified Mandeville Police.
The department released a statement from Chief Gerald Sticker which read, in part:
"I want to stress that at this time there is no corroborated proof that any crime has taken place and we will not release any specific details concerning the investigation. The Mandeville Police Department will fully investigate the allegation."
In early September, the associate program services director at Beau Provence was arrested for alleged failure to report abuse of adults and obstruction of justice after a 78-year-old resident reported being raped by a cook at the home. The cook was subsequently arrested.
