Man arrested for burglarizing shed in Algiers Point

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police arrested a man after he was caught on surveillance footage, breaking into a shed in Algiers Point and stealing equipment. The incident occurred Monday Sept 19 around 12:10 a.m. in the 300 block of Belleville Street.

According to police, 31-year-old Johnathon Guidry was seen on the footage with another white man, walking to the back of a property in the area. Surveillance cameras then captured the two men taking two weed eaters, a lawnmower and a pressure washer from a shed located on the property.

Detectives were able to identify Guidry as one of the two suspects. Guidry was arrested, Wednesday, in the 500 block of Elmira Street. He was booked with simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen property. Police say that an arrest warrant for the second suspect is pending.
