NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Department of Sanitation will host a free paper shredding event.
"Shred Day" will be at the City's Recycling Drop-Off Center at 2829 Elysian Fields Avenue. The event starts at 8 a.m Saturday, Oct. 8.
Residents can bring up to 50 lbs. of personal or sensitive documents to be shredded safely and securely by document management company Iron Mountain.
Iron Mountain will not shred plastic, compact disks, DVDs or other metal other than paper clips and staples.
Shred Day is offered in conjunction with the city's ongoing recycling and e-waste disposal services, held on the second Saturday of each month.
