(WVUE) - Plan to finish out this work week on a hot note.
Temperatures will flirt with the 90-degree mark each afternoon. A cold front will move through the area this weekend but don't expect a huge drop in temperatures.
A nice breeze and less humidity are most likely by Sunday.
Looking ahead to next week there aren't many changes. More dry and warm October sun with no rain in the forecast.
Hurricane Matthew will approach the Florida coastline today. This has the potential to be a devastating storm for areas from Palm Beach north to Jacksonville. Inland areas like Orlando will also likely see near hurricane conditions.
The Carolinas could be impacted over the weekend before Matthew moves east back out over the Atlantic.
Tropical Storm Nicole will stay out to sea, and a wave east of the Windward Islands will move into the south Caribbean Sea over the next few days.
Right now there is a low chance for that system to develop.
