NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

State officials want a new location for a federal lawsuit challenging a state law concerning the age of dancers at strip clubs.

Lawyers for the defendant in the case, the state alcohol control commissioner, want to trial moved to Baton Rouge.

They argue that's where two of the three dancers that brought the suit live and work. It's also where the alcohol control commission is located.

The suit was originally filed here in New Orleans last month and disputes a state law that would require dancers be no younger than 21 years old in order to perform.

The request to change venue also says witnesses in the case are also based in the state capital.
