Thibodaux man killed in motorcycle accident early Friday

RACELAND, LA (WVUE) -

A Thibodaux man was killed in Raceland Friday morning after he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving and crashed into a tree, according to initial reports from the Louisiana State Police.

Ross Callais, 44, was heading north on La. 308 when he went off the road at a curve near Acorn Lane and hit a tree just before 3:30 a.m.

Callais was pronounced dead by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. He was wearing a  helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators are waiting on toxicology reports to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Louisiana State Police Troop C is in charge of the investigation.
