Suspicious vehicle call leads to arrest of wanted man

WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Washington Parish deputies arrested a wanted man after answering a call for a suspicious vehicle.

Deputies arrested Nigel Fortenberry, 28, of Tylertown, Mississippi on Friday.

According to the sheriff's office, they received a call about a suspicious car at an abandoned home on Cleve Kennedy Road in Franklinton.

The deputy stopped a car that matched the description of the car and ran a check on Fortenberry.

It showed that he had outstanding warrants. The deputy also found what turned out to be a stolen pistol on the front seat of the vehicle.

Deputies say they also found marijuana on Fortenberry.

He was booked with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, probation violation and two counts of misdemeanor failure to appear.

Fortenberry was placed in the Washington Parish Jail where he remains with bond set at $7,550.
