NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Orleans Parish Coroner said this morning that a woman found in an Audubon Park lagoon drowned.
The statement describes her as a "middle-aged female, possibly homeless."
Evidence at the scene leads investigators to believe the woman was homeless, the coroner's statement said.
The autopsy revealed no trauma. Toxicology and other medical tests are pending. A fingerprint confirmation of identity is also pending.
A jogger discovered the woman's body shortly after 8 a.m. Monday partially in the lagoon in the park near where Perrier Street ends at the park.
