NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is searching for two suspects involved in a burglary and car theft at a home on Camp Street.

According to police, a personal assistant to the owner of the home was put in charge to watch a home in the 2300 block of Camp St.

The personal assistant told police that when he left the home around midnight on October 1, the home was locked and secured and the owner’s beige 2010 BMW 3 Series two-door car was still in the driveway.

When he returned to check on the home on October 3 around noon, he saw that the vehicle was missing from the driveway and that a window on the side of the home was open. The man then went into the home and found that several jewelry boxes and drawers had been opened and rifled through.

The assistant told police that he is not sure what was stolen or if anything was stolen.

It is believed that the vehicle was stolen in the incident.

Police say a surveillance camera caught video of two men they believe are responsible for the burglary and car theft.

If anyone has any information about the incident, they are asked to call the Sixth District detectives at (504) 658-6060 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
