Suspect identified in fatal shooting on General Meyer

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department says that they have identified one of the suspects in Saturday’s fatal shooting on General Meyer.

The shooting happened at 1:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of General Meyer Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 36-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a business. He was transported to University Medical Center where he later died.

Sunday, police released pictures of three persons of interest captured on surveillance video.

The NOPD has identified one suspect in the shooting as 22-year-old Ronnie Smith.

When arrested, Smith will be charged with second degree murder.
