NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Two women were killed and a man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Earhart Boulevard Saturday morning.
Police say the crash happened just after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Earhart Blvd. and South Broad Street.
According to investigators, the driver of a burgundy 2015 Ford F150 was traveling northbound on Earhart Blvd. when for unknown reasons lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then hit the right curb, left the roadway, traveled on the grassy area under the Broad St. overpass and crashed into the bridge support.
Both of the female passengers in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 67-year-old male was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
The identities of the passengers are being withheld pending family notification.
The crash remains under investigation and blood and alcohol tests are pending.
