NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A tip from a postal service inspector leads to a drug bust on the North Shore.

Investigators say they picked up Hugh Jones and Lawrence Walls on Oct. 12 in Angie. A tip from a postal service inspector sent investigators to a residence on Mondy Road in Angie where they found the pair. They say when they got to the home a Customs and Border Patrol dog alerted investigators to the likely presence of marijuana in a mailed box. They also say their search uncovered a 10 pound box of marijuana, weapons and a frozen alligator carcass.

Both suspects were transported to the Washington Parish Jail. Bond for Jones was set at $15,000. Bond for Walls was set at $45,736.
