NOPD searching for suspect who robbed a cab driver in Algiers

ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) -

A man suspected of robbing a cab driver last week is still on the loose and the New Orleans Police Department wants to find him.

The robbery happened around 2:15 a.m. on October 9.

The victim told investigators that he went to pick up a fare in the 3200 block of General DeGaulle Drive.

The suspect got into the cab and the driver took him to the intersection of Texas Drive and Seine Street.

When they arrived, the suspect pulled a knife and the two men began a fight that left the cab driver with injuries.

The suspect then took the money from the cab and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man five-feet-six inches to five-feet-eight-inches tall, weighing 130 to 150 pounds.

He has a dark complexion, thin build, and is approximately 25 to 30 years old.

He appeared to have a tattoo of the letters M.O.B. and an arrow on his left hand.
