NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A house under construction collapsed in the 1900 block of Mandeville Street on Wednesday.

New Orleans firefighters responded to the scene in the St. Roch neighborhood.

We're told two workers were inside the house replacing studs when the accident happened.
The Fire Department tweeted one adult male was injured, but he refused to be transported to the hospital by New Orleans EMS.

Reginald Barnes was working on the house next to the one that collapsed. "All we heard was boom, boom, boom boom. The whole house just started falling down. And it smashed my truck. And the other guys they was up under there, but they was OK."

Barnes said had his truck not been parked where it was, an electrician who was working with him may have been seriously injured. While Barnes' truck is likely totaled, he said he's just glad everyone survived.
