KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

The Kenner City Council may vote this afternoon on a resolution calling for the resignation of Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni.

The council will take up the resolution at its meeting tonight that would call for Yenni to resign immediately.

A growing list of governing bodies and elected leaders have called on Yenni to resign after improper text messages to a 17-year-old surfaced three weeks ago.

A recall effort is underway to remove Yenni from office.

The resolution is currently on the council’s agenda for the meeting at 5 p.m. at Kenner City Hall.
