SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

Slidell Police say a fight between two women over a man lead to a confrontation that turned violent.  Shortly after 6:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17, 2016, Slidell Police responded to a disturbance of shots fired into a vehicle in the 2800 Block of Clark Street, located in the Lincoln Park Subdivision.  When police arrived, they discovered the victim’s vehicle had been shot multiple times.

After speaking with the victim and witnesses, police discovered that the dispute started with text threats from 31-year-old Kylie Clark of Bay St. Louis, MS.  Clark allegedly became enraged as she arrived at a man's house only to find another woman had pulled up at the same time. Police say Clark began firing at the other woman's car until she ran out of bullets, shooting at least seven shots into the car..

The victim was able to escape the barrage of bullets by laying cross the seat of her car.  As the victim tries to drive away as she was still on the seat, she crashed into the other woman's car, but was able to pull off and drive away.  .

Detectives say once the area was safe and Kylie Clark left, the victim returned to speak with members of the Slidell Police Department.  The suspect’s vehicle was located, and both vehicles were impounded and processed by the Slidell Police Department Crime Scene Unit.  Several bullet holes were located inside the victim’s vehicle, and a .380 Caliber, semi-automatic handgun was recovered inside the suspect’s vehicle.

Clark reportedly turned herself into Slidell Police.  She's been booked with attempted second degree and was transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.

Chief E.J. Howard stated “It is disturbing for a verbal/texting argument to escalate into multiple gunshots being fired at our victim inside her vehicle at 6:00 in the evening when children are playing in this area.  We are extremely fortunate that no one was injured in this senseless incident.”
