The NOPD says it has obtained an arrest warrant for Walter Jackson in connection with an auto burglary and subsequent auto theft on October 2, 2016 from the parking lot of the McDonald's restaurant located at 10001 North I-10 Service Road.

The victim told police that at approximately 7 p.m., he was inside of the restaurant, and his vehicle, a 2002 black GMC Envoy SUV, was parked in the parking lot. At approximately 7:20 p.m., he observed the vehicle was missing. The victim told police he did not observe any broken glass near where his vehicle was parked and did not remember locking his vehicle, but also said he could not find the keys to the vehicle.

On Oct. 4, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies located the vehicle with Jackson, who was arrested at the time for being in possession of the vehicle.

Through investigation, NOPD Seventh District detectives developed Jackson as a principal subject in the theft of the vehicle.
