NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 2600 block Poydras Street.
At around 1:44 p.m., First District officers received a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. When officers arrived, they found a male victim in his early 20s inside an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information was released. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim and official cause of death.
