TPSO: Shooting leaves teen dead, two women injured; suspect arrested

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - Terrebonne Parish sheriff's deputies have arrested a man following a triple shooting that left a teen dead and two women injured. The incident occurred Tuesday at 10:50 p.m. in the 200 block of Capri Court in Houma. The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Rhubin Scott Jr.

According to police, responding officers arrived on scene to find a teen and two women, suffering from gunshot wounds. The two women were transported to to the hospital. The first woman is identified as the ex-girlfriend of Scott, while the second is identified as the mother of the ex-girlfriend. The third victim, identified as 17-year-old David Trahan Jr. was pronounced dead on the scene. He is identified as the brother of the ex-girlfriend.

Investigators learned that Scott went to the ex-girlfriends place of employment and was asked to leave after causing a disturbance. The ex-girlfriend, her mother and her brother then went to the mother's home in order to get away from Scott, but he followed them there. That is where, police say, Scott shot the three individuals, following a domestic violence altercation.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Scott for second degree murder and two counts of attempted second degree murder.

According to police, Scott was arrested Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. after being located at a family member's home in Gray. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with second degree murder and two counts of second degree murder. Scott was booked in the Terrebonne Parish Jail and his bond was set at $2,000,000.

Police say that the ex-girlfriend was treated for her injuries and released from the hospital Wednesday morning. The ex-girlfriend's mother is still in the hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
