Man robbed of thousands in Carrollton neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A thief made off with thousands of dollars after he robbed a man Wednesday afternoon in the Carrollton neighborhood.

Initial New Orleans Police Department reports indicate the robbery occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of Hillary Street.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, was working underneath a house when he heard a male voice demanding he get up and empty his pockets.

The suspect put an object to the victim’s back and checked his pockets.

The suspect fled with $5,100 from the victim’s pockets.
