NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

You may want to think twice the next time you consider honking your car horn at another driver.  The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a case of road rage that resulted in one driver pointing a gun at another driver.

The incident happened Wednesday October 26, 2016, at approximately 3:40 p.m.  The victim told police that he honked his car horn at an unknown male driving a black Nissan Titan. The driver then allegedly got angry and began following the victim north to the red light at Franklin and east I-610 where they exchanged words. That's when the truck driver pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the man.

Luckily for the victim, the driver didn't fire the gun, instead fleeing southbound on Franklin Avenue.  Police describe the truck driver as a black male with a twist hairstyle and he was wearing an unknown type hat. Police say there was another black male in the passenger seat.   .

The victim captured a photograph of the truck as it drove away.  NOPD is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Kristie Harper or any Third District detective at 504-658-6030. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
