Police: Man shoots ‘warning shot’ into step-son’s foot during argument

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department says they have arrested a man accused of shooting his step-son during an argument.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Friday in the 6700 block of Dorian Street.

According to investigators, 55-year-old Rudolph Franklin got into a verbal altercation with his step-son. During the altercation, Franklin armed himself with a gun and began to fire warning shots into the floor.

A bullet struck the step-son in the foot and he was transported to a local hospital.

Franklin was arrested at the scene.

The shooting remains under investigation.
