Man in critical condition after St. Roch shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A gunman opened fire on two men in the St. Roch neighborhood and one remains in critical condition.

According to initial police reports, the shooting happened just after 1 a.m. in the 2400 block of St. Roch Avenue.

The victims, men ages 27 and 26, were sitting under a carport when a suspect, described as a black man, appeared and began shooting at them.

The 27-year-old was shot several times and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The 26-year-old man was not injured in the shooting.
