NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department says they now have the name of the suspect believed to be involved in a stabbing incident on Eastview Drive last month.
Police have identified the suspect as 16-year-old Tatiana Jackson.
According to investigators, just before 11 p.m. on October 23, Jackson and the victim communicated over social media and agreed to meet in person. The victim then picked up Jackson who was seen walking from an apartment complex at the intersection of North Villiere Street and Independence Street.
Once Jackson got into the victim's vehicle, the victim drove to a predetermined location. There, police say Jackson pulled a knife from her jacket and began stabbing the victim. The victim then fled the vehicle and attempted to get help.
Witnesses say that Jackson then attempted to flee the scene in the victim's vehicle but was stopped by neighbors. She then fled the scene on foot.
Police are still working to locate Jackson.
If anyone has any information about the incident or of Jackson's whereabouts, they are asked to contact Seventh District Detectives at (504) 648-6070 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
