Man shot to death Thursday night in New Orleans East

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A 28-year-old man was shot to death late Thursday night in New Orleans East.

New Orleans police were called to the scene in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

When they arrived, they found the man unresponsive, lying in the right shoulder lane of the highway suffering from trauma and several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are working to determine the motive for the shooting and suspects.

Homicide Detective Bruce Brueggeman is leading the investigation and can be contacted at 658-5300.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's office will release the identity of the victim once his family is notified.
