LSU prepares to host top-ranked Alabama

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - The LSU Tigers will be looking to keep their recent hot streak under Interim Head Coach Ed Orgeron going Saturday night, but their work will be cut out for them as they welcome in the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

Under 'Coach O' the Tigers (5-2, 3-1) are 3-0 and have scored an average of 41.6 points per game. But they face an Alabama squad who enters the contest undefeated and who has not scored less than 33 points in a game this season.

The Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0) have had the Tigers' number recently, winning their last five matchups against LSU including the 2011 National Championship Game in New Orleans by a score of 21-0. The last Tiger victory over the Crimson Tide came earlier in 2011 when LSU defeated Alabama in Tuscaloosa 9-6 in overtime.

Attending the game are former Tigers and current Arizona Cardinal defensive backs Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson, who participated in the Tiger Walk into the stadium.

Kickoff between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide is set for 7 p.m. from Tiger Stadium.
