Good Samaritan carjacked while attempting to assist accident victim on I-10

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department says that a man was carjacked during an attempt to assist someone who was involved in an accident.

Police say the incident happened on I-10 West at Michoud Boulevard just before noon Saturday.

The victim told police that he pulled over on the side of the road to check on a person who was involved in an accident. The suspect then entered the victim’s vehicle on the passenger’s side, struck the him in the face, pushed him out of the vehicle and drove off.

Police are searching for the victim’s 2012 white Ford F250 with the Louisiana license plate B866221.
