ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office has opened an investigation after a body was pulled Sunday from the Mississippi River. The discovery was made at 6:57 a.m. by workers on a barge located at mile post 122 on the river.
According to police, investigators believe that the body recovered is that of missing Army Corps of Engineers employee Larrielle Ross of Mississippi, but they can't confirm the identity until an autopsy is performed on Tuesday in New Orleans and dental records are provided.
Police say that Ross was reported missing Wednesday while working on a docked boat in Norco for the Corps of Engineers MSU.
Investigators will release the identity when autopsy results come in.
