NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Many New Orleans Saints fans wake up with renewed faith in their team this morning after the Saints pulled off one of their best performances yet this season.
A 41-23 road game against the San Francisco 49ers puts the saints at 4-4 for the season.
The Saints rushed for 248 yards yesterday, the 10th-highest rushing total in franchise history.
The Saints have come a long way since an 0-3 start and are now in second place in the NFC South.
"You expect it's going to go down to the wire. You expect that you're going to have to make plays at the end of the game to win and really throughout the whole game," said Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
After winning four of their last five games, the Saints will try to keep the momentum going Sunday when they host the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
Kickoff against the Broncos is set for Sunday at noon at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
