Kenner woman killed in Destrehan crash

DESTREHAN, LA (WVUE) - A 20-year-old Kenner woman was killed in an accident Monday evening in Destrehan.

Just before 6 p.m., Angelica Matamoros was driving her 2002 Toyota Camry south on US 61 when she crossed the center median into the northbound lanes.

The Toyota was struck by a 2002 Honda CRV, driven by Norman Porter, 23, of LaPlace.

Matamoros was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected on impact.

After being ejected, Matamoros was struck by a 2014 Ford truck, driven by 28-year-old Justin Hunter.

Matamoros was pronounced dead at the scene. Porter sustained moderate injuries and was transported to University Medical Center.  Hunter was not injured.

Impairment is not suspected. However, toxicology results for Matamoros are pending an autopsy.

Blood was taken from both Porter and Hunter and toxicology tests will be performed by the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

The crash remains under investigation.
