JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Louisiana's Secretary of State says he expects up to 70 percent voter turnout this election and with more than three million people registered to vote, long lines can be expected at polling stations.
It was an early start and a wait in line Election Day morning for voters at the Eastbank Public Library in Jefferson Parish.
From the back to the front of the line, some voters had a place to be after.
"I gotta go for 9 o'clock," Lekeedra Lane said.
Expectations weren't met with reality for these early risers.
"I did expect long lines," voter Paula Sharbonmo said.
Their civic duty done it was an early start worth the effort.
