NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The Saints are releasing defensive tackle John Jenkins, a source confirmed to FOX 8 Sports. Ian Rapaport of the NFL Network first reported the news.

Jenkins was a healthy scratch for Sunday's game in San Francisco. With the return of Sheldon Rankins, the Saints have plenty of depth at defensive tackle.

For the season, Jenkins had ten tackles.
