From little readers to literary scholars, this two-day, family friendly event offers book lovers plenty of activities.
Festivities start Friday with a night of song and dance at the Latter Branch Library at 6:30 p.m.
Then, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the daytime fest packs a full day of readings, panel discussions and kids activities at New Orleans City Park.

Saturday, Nov. 12
You're in for a smoking combo of brass bands and gumbo this weekend. Celebrate one of New Orleans favorite foods at the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Armstrong Park.
The free event features 14 food vendors serving up their best interpretation of the classic dish. Festival organizers add a few new touches this year.
A new food court in Congo Square features some local food legends like Willie Mae's Scotch House.
You can also learn gumbo secrets from local cooking icons like Leah chase at the fest's new cooking demonstration stage.
In addition to gumbo and other food items, there's an art market and music all day long from some of the area's best brass bands.
