PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Some residents on the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish are under a Boil Water Advisory.  The order, issued Friday morning includes Braithwaite from the parish line to White Ditch.

The cause of the Boil Water Advisory is due to a drop in the water pressure.  Parish officials say a contractor broke a man waterline that was marked by Severn Trent.

If you live in the affected areas, you are advised to boil water for at least one minute before consuming.  This applies to not only water that you are drinking, but also water that you use for things like making coffee or cooking.

Once the repairs are complete and water samples are cleared from the State Lab you will be advised when the water will be safe for consumption without boiling.
