Police arrest man wanted for 2015 Algiers murder

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police have arrested a man wanted for a 2015 shooting that left one man dead. The incident occurred Jan. 26, 2015 in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Police say that 21-year-old Kareem Richards was wanted in connection with the shooting that claimed the life of 17-year-old Tokyo Palmer.

According to police, officers arrived on scene to find Palmer shot multiple times. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators later named Richards as a suspect, based on witness participation.

On Saturday, Richards turned himself in to U.S. Marshall's, who later released him to the NOPD. He was booked with second degree murder.

The investigation into the incident continues.
