Celebrate National Bordello Day by entering the "Best Dressed Madame Contest" at May Baily's Place bar in the Dauphine Orleans Hotel.
May Baily's Place bar was once one of the most well-known bordellos in the Red Light District of New Orleans. Wednesday the bar will host this fun, annual costume contest.
Dress in a period costume and cut a rug to ragtime music while enjoying happy hour specials, complimentary appetizers and specialty drinks like the Madametini.

It's never too early to get into the holiday spirit. Head over to the French Market on Thursday at 5 p.m. for the annual tree lighting at Washington Artillery Park, across from Jackson Square.
Festivities kick off with a performance by the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park.
The lighting of the 27-foot fleur de lis topped tree follows.
Events close out with a second line to St. Louis Cathedral for a concert featuring The Jones Sisters.

Grammy-award winning a cappella group Pentatonix makes a tour stop in New Orleans at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
Opening for the group is country/pop artist Abi and American folk-pop group Us the Duo.

Local musicians Anais St. John and Karma provide live entertainment at the event. Cocktail attire required.
