GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - The man who gunned down a Metairie father and son in their living room could learn more today about his sentencing.
A status hearing for Dexter Allen is scheduled for today in a Gretna courtroom.
A jury convicted him last month in the fatal shootings of David and Nicholas Pence which took place in April of 2015.
Allen was breaking into cars that night in the Pence's neighborhood. He then went into the Pence's home, stole several items, and shot and killed the two men.
A judge will decide whether Allen will spend life in prison with or without the possibility of parole.
