NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Louisiana congressman Steve Scalise will return to a congressional leadership role during a Trump administration.
Rep. Scalise's colleagues voted unanimously Nov. 15 to put him back in the house majority whip position. That's the third most powerful position in the house.
The republican from Jefferson released the following statement regarding his re-election:
"I'm grateful that my colleagues have elected me to continue serving as Majority Whip. With Donald Trump coming into the White House," the American people have given us a tremendous opportunity to pass bold, conservative reforms that put our country back on track so we can create jobs, strengthen our national security and restore the promise established by our Constitution. I'm honored to serve alongside our strong leadership team and our entire united Conference as we work together to deliver strong results that make America great again."
