(WVUE) - After a light freeze on the north shore and mid to upper 30s south of the Lake Pontchartrain this morning, temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 60s.

Tonight will be another chilly one, but freezing temperatures are not expected. Lows will be in the mid-30s north of the lake and upper 40s on the south shore.
The roller coaster ride continues as temperatures warm back toward the upper 70s and low 80s around mid-week. Thanksgiving will likely feature a mix of sun and clouds with warmer than average conditions.
Tropical Depression 16 has formed in the southwest Caribbean. It could be named "Otto" by mid-week and is forecast to become a hurricane before making landfall on the east coast of Nicaragua or Costa Rica later this week.
The train of strong fronts should keep any tropical development well to the south of the northern gulf coast.
