Orleans Parish coroner identifies two recent homicide victims

The Orleans Parish coroner has identified two recent New Orleans homicide victims.

Terrell Holmes, 30, was shot to death just after 7 p.m. Friday night near the intersection of Josephine Street an Rev. John Raphael, Jr. Way.

New Orleans police responded to a call reporting shots fired. When officers arrived, they found Holmes unresponsive, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Holmes was taken to nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, Jose Orsorto-Nunez, 35, was shot to death in the 14000 block of Peltier Drive.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Orsorto-Nunez suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
