BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Louisiana's Office of Motor Vehicles will once again accept cash to process certain transactions.
It's a reversal of their decision announced just last month. However, OMV officials say they reviewed policies to better serve the citizens of the state.
"Our goal is to provide the best possible customer service to the citizens of Louisiana. Our agency has received feedback from the public, and I feel it is necessary to again allow the use of cash for certain OMV transactions," stated OMV Commissioner Karen St. Germain.
Beginning December 5th, cash will be allowed as payment for all transactions except reinstatement services. Reinstatement services include items such as penalties or fees relating to cancellations of insurance, failure to pay citations, etc.
