Police searching for suspect in Earhart Blvd. armed robbery

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a suspect they believe was involved in an armed robbery.

Police say the incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of Earhart Boulevard.

The victim told police that he was working in a mechanic’s yard when black male entered the yard and approached him. The suspect then produced a black revolver, robbed the victim and fled the scene on foot westbound along Earhart Blvd.

Surveillance video captured the suspect walking along the street outside of a location near the crime scene.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion who is believed to be between 20-25 years old. He stands at 5’6” tall, weighs about 150 pounds with a slim build, short brown hair, short beard and brown eyes.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, khaki pants, black socks and sports-type sandals.

Family members of the victims are concerned for the safety of the community, as are new members of the Clemency Board. CBS 5 Investigates videotaped Huff riding a bike through his Tucson neighborhood. There are no restrictions placed on his proximity to children.
