2 people injured in separate shootings overnight

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two shootings overnight that left two people injured.

The first shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Henriette Delille Street.

Police say the doorbell to residence was rung several times before an unknown black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt shot through the door.

A 24-year-old male was shot during the incident and was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The second shooting happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Murl Street.

The victim told police that she was lying in bed when a stray bullet came through the wall and hit her in the shoulder.

Police say the woman was taken to a local hospital by private conveyance.
