Tulane women defeat UTSA

FOX 8 FOX 8
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Tulane's women's basketball team was crowned champion, Sunday, after holding on to beat UTSA, 75-66, in their own tournament. Kolby Morgan led with a season-high 22 points while Meredith Schulte shined with her first career double-double, netting 10 points and 10 rebounds. San Antonio-native Leslie Vorpahl also finished in double figures, tacking on 15 points in front of her home crowd.

“I thought our bench did a great job,” Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton said. “It was very timely. When Caylah went in, she got some steals and to the free-throw line, and that was key. In those last five minutes, we had some really young players on the floor and I thought they did a super job of finishing this game.”

The Green Wave return to action, Wednesday night, hosting McNeese State.
