NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans fire fighters battled a two-alarm fire, Monday, that left an Uptown home heavily damaged. The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. in the 2100 block of Calhoun Street.
An NOFD spokesperson says that crews got the initial call at 7:07 p.m. and a second alarm was raised at 7:13 p.m. One person was inside the two-story home at the time of the fire and fire officials say that individual made it out of the home safely.
According to fire officials, the fire spread to the garage of a neighboring residence but did not affect the home on that property.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
