NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New surveillance video shows the chaotic moments directly after gunmen opened fire on Bourbon Street early Sunday morning.
Police say surveillance video from businesses on Bourbon Street and around the French Quarter will help them find the shooters responsible for Sunday's mass shooting.
New surveillance video footage obtained by Fox 8 shows people fleeing the scene after shots were fired. NOPD officers on horseback can be seen rushing to find the scene. Moments later Louisiana State Police can be seen making their way toward the scene.
Demontris Toliver, 25, of Baton Rouge, was killed and nine others were wounded in the shooting.
One woman was shot five times, her mother said.
The shooting was the result of an argument between two men who are not from the area.
There were dozens of police officers on Bourbon Streets and in the French Quarter at the time of the shooting, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said.
Landrieu said he is confident law enforcement can handle these kinds of situations, but admitted that they will need some help.
