(WVUE) - A tornado watch is in effect for southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi through noon. It may be extended eastward as the squall line continues.
Strong storms are likely to move across the area this morning. Strong winds and heavy downpours will cross the area with a cold front. Isolated tornadoes or small hail cannot be ruled out especially for southwestern Mississippi areas north of Lake Pontchartrain.
Behind the storms comes cooler, drier air. Temperatures will likely be dropping throughout the day, and the skies will be clearing. Cool and pleasant conditions to return through Friday.
Over the weekend, moisture will return. Expect increased cloud cover on Saturday and rain likely on Sunday.
