NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux knows all about Lions quarterback Matt Stafford's impressive season. He's watched him on film and hears about him at home.
"My wife has him on her fantasy team," Breaux said.
"Will you advise her not to start him on Sunday," a reporter asked.
"Yes, no question, do not play him at all."
That may work on the fantasy roster but it won't help in reality where Stafford will start against the Saints Sunday.
Stafford is in the midst of a career year with 19 touchdowns to five interceptions.
"I think he has some of the best arm talent in the league," Saints quarterback Drew Brees said. "Top three for sure. He can make throws most guys can't make, certainly can't even attempt to make."
The difference is this season he's making those kind of throws in the most pressure packed situations. The Lions are 7-4 and have come from behind
in the fourth quarter in every single win. Stafford has led his team on six game-winning drives.
"Having those comeback wins in the end that's huge," Breaux said. " He is playing at an elite level and we have to show disguises and stop them."
