NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police say they have arrested Xavier Finley on charges connected to an armed robbery and shootout that took place on Bienville Street last month.
The victim reported that on November 11, 2016, he was robbed at gunpoint by two unknown males in a parking garage in the 800 block of Bienville. During the course of the robbery, the two perpetrators ordered the victim to get into his vehicle and drive them to an ATM. The victim was able to retrieve his weapon and engage the suspects, who returned fire at him before fleeing the area. The victim was not injured and a video surveillance camera captured the incident.
During the investigation, police say Finley was identified as the suspect who shot at the victim and took his property.
On November 19, 2016 Louisiana State Police (LSP) conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle that led to several drug and stolen property arrests. Through this arrest, LSP and the NOPD's First and Eighth District Investigative Units say they were able to identify Finley as one of the armed robbery perpetrators in the incident on November 11.
NOPD detectives then relocated to Orleans Parish Prison where Finley is currently being held on unrelated charges and re-booked him for the armed robbery.
